This unique celebration starts with a secret: only Mrs Red knows the baby’s gender. The expectant parents on the big news in confidence, with or without knowing themselves, and Mrs Red plans the reveal artwork accordingly.

Next, the invitations go out! You can choose your watercolour design theme from 12 designs. Guests are invited to a Watercolour Gender Reveal Party at your home or chosen venue anywhere in South East Queensland. Mrs Red is Gold Coast based and will travel to Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, out to Toowoomba and down to Byron Bay Shire. The class runs for approximately 90 minutes, and no art experience is needed. Mrs Red supplies all the art ,aterials, right down to table clothes (white ones with watercolour paint all over them). It’s relaxed, sociable, and full of laughter — the perfect way to celebrate your growing bump in style.

Step One: Choose Your Design

Before the party, the expectant mum (and host) works with Mrs Red to choose a design for everyone to paint. Each artwork is designed to be simple enough for beginners but beautiful enough to display. It’s all about creating a happy memory on paper.

Step Two: Let the Painting Begin!

Once everyone is gathered, it’s time to paint! The guests are given one key instruction:

👉 If you think the baby is a boy, paint mainly with greens and blues.

👉 If you think the baby is a girl, paint mainly with pinks and purples.

Mrs Red will guide everyone step-by-step through the painting process — no pressure, no rules, just creativity and fun. You’ll learn a few easy watercolour techniques, add your own personal touches, and feel that calm, mindful joy that comes from playing with colour. While brushes move and laughter fills the room, everyone quietly wonders… what is the baby going to be?

Step Three: The Big Reveal

When the artworks are finished and all dry, guests line up in two groups:

The “Team Boy” painters, showing off their blue and green artworks.

The “Team Girl” painters, proudly holding their pink and purple creations.

Then, comes the moment everyone’s been waiting for. Mrs Red — who’s been part of the secret all along — reveals her own artwork, painted in the true baby colours.

This is the same space needed to hold a Watercolour Celebration, just replace and plates and cutlery with A4 watercolour paper & paint brushes, pencils and pens. The paints and water buckets are shared among 3/4 people. 

You can hold your Watercolour Gender Reveal Celebration in your home, wind free backyard, community hall, or event space. Mrs Red takes care of setup and pack-down, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the moment. It is also a great way to plan for party food to come out after the big reveal. Mrs Red will quietly pack up in the background and then you can continue to use the tables and chairs to sit at whilst you eat.
